We will first give a brief introduction to the theory of rigid analytic varieties. Later we will introduce the notion of holonomic D-modules and their de Rham cohomology on such varieties. In the last part of the talk we will discuss finiteness of the de Rham cohomology and in particular we will present our results in the case of rigid analytic varieties over fields of equal characteristic zero.
