Matthew Bisatt, University of Bristol 11.06.2025 12:00, B1-37 Title: Tame torsion and the inverse Galois problem Fix positive integers m and g. Does there exists a g-dimensional abelian variety over the rationals whose m-torsion field is everywhere tamely ramified? We answer this question and, as an application, consider the problem of realising general symplectic groups as Galois groups with infinitely many local conditions. This is joint work with T. Dokchitser. |
