Title: On torsion of superelliptic Jacobians
Abstract:
For any superelliptic curve y^m=F(x) we give a description of a subgroup of the Jacobian formed by m-torsion points coming from the roots of F. We proceed to study the Mordell-Weil ranks of Jacobians of special superelliptic curves over Q by applying this description of torsion to their reductions, along with results concerning existence of torsion on the curves over finite fields.
